Japan Charity Events

Musicians from University of Miami Frost School of Music, New World Symphony, and Lynn University are giving a benefit recital to raise support for the victims in Japan.

The Salvation Army will be receiving credit card, cash, or check donations at the recital.

The Salvation Army has relief teams in Japan and have been helping evacuate people from areas affected by the failed nuclear reactors. In addition, the Salvation Army has helped many earthquake victims offering food and shelter.

This event is sponsored by the Salvation Army, Plymouth Congregational Church, Steinway&Sons Gallery Miami, Matsuri, and the UPS Store in Coconut Grove.

There will be a small reception donated by MATSURI following the recital.

API Night and 4/6 Fun AASA updates!

Thank you everyone who came out to our Pre-APIAH events and helped with our fundraising for Japan.

Hey, AASA!

Get excited! Asian Pacific Islands Night is tomorrow! The fun starts at 6:30 PM and everything is in the UC Patio. Please come check it out. Lots of planning has gone into this event, especially by our chair, Hong-Uyen Hua, and skit director, LK Lau!

Of course, also support the other nights. Caribbean Night is Thursday, and African Night is Friday!

Also don't forget that Morikami is Saturday and our chill kickball day is Sunday. If you signed up for Morikami at out meeting, you should be receiving another e-mail with more details closer to the date.

Thursday, March 31st 7pm Cosford Cinema "Vincent Who?," is a 40 minute documentary that looks at the historic hate crime murder of Vincent Chin and the current state of Asian American empowerment. AASA Updates:

Rumble on the Green!





Hosted by the Committee On Student Organizations (COSO), Rumble On the Green is a fun and competitive field day. AASA competes with other organizations on campus.

AASA placed Third overall, winning first in Water Balloon Toss (credit to Justin Turley and Bryan Tachibana), second in Sponge Pass, and third in musical chairs (credit to Anthony Hall).

Rumble on the Green: Field Day Competition

Are []_[] ready to RUMBLE? Come and and compete with AASA at one of UM's most exciting events yet! Hosted by the Committee On Student Organizations (COSO), Rumble On the Green is a fun and competitive field day on Sunday, March 6th from Noon - 3pm.

Here's a sneak peek at some of this year's Rumble activities:

    - Spirit competitions
    - UM trivia
    - musical chairs (won last year by our very own Melvin La!)
