About

Established in 1997, the Asian American Students Association (AASA) at the University of Miami promotes the awareness of Asian culture and the Asian American identity. Our goal is to build unity and strengthen communication among Asian and Asian American students, while educating the University community about our cultures and traditions.
We represent the needs and interests of all Asian and Pacific Islander students, both international and domestic, although our membership includes students, alumni, faculty and staff from every imaginable background, race, color, age, or nationality.
Our activities and events include competition in the South Florida Dragon Boat Festival, our Run N' Gun flag football tournament, our annual Date Auction, Asian Pacific Islander Heritage Month in April, COISO's Asia Night and International Week, and numerous social and cultural events, culminating with our end-of-year AASA Banquet and Formal.
But the best way to find out who we are is to see for yourself. So come to our meetings, participate in our events, and come see what AASA is all about!

MISSION STATEMENT
The guiding principles of our organization are to unify Asians from different nationalities and backgrounds, to educate the public about Asian cultures and traditions via creative cultural programming and events, and to foster leadership within the Asian community at the University of Miami.
